Frequently Asked Questions

1. Marketing support: What marketing material and support will the reseller receive?

  • Answer: EduTone designs and distributes a variety of product flyers, brochures, etc. that can be downloaded from the web.  Documents will allow for partner co-branding. Other material such as logos, letter heads, proposal templates and lead generation tools, price sheets etc., will be available through password controlled access to the Reseller web on edutone.com. EduTone will make best effort to include partners in the relevant trade shows nd online marketing activities such as PR, blogs, advertising etc.  Custom Go To Market programs can be designed between EduTone and Resellers

2. Distribution Rights and Territory Exclusivity: How large of a territory will each reseller be allowed to work with?

  • Answer: EduTone Authorized Resellers in the USA have the right to market and sell product in all 50 states. EduTone understands, however,  that most Resellers will market and sell the EduTone products in their immediate service area as defined by the Reseller.  EduTone will use its discretion in determining how many resellers to put in a particular geographic area.  That would depend on factors such as capabilities breadth of the reseller, availability of sales and technical resources, size of the market etc.  EduTone will ensure there are enough resellers in a particular area to meet customer demand and icrease Resellr’s sales amd profitability.

3. Pricing: Will EduTone work and support distributor with bulk pricing or volume orders? Will there be flexibility in mark ups or mark downs of products? Will resellers receive discounted or free demos to showcase to potential clients?

  • Answer: Yes to all pricing questions above.  Discounts and levels will vary.
4. Type of Agreement: What type of re-seller agreement do you have in mind (authorized, preferred, strategic, non-exclusive, value added…).
  • Answer: It is an Authorized Value-added Agreement.
5. Profit Margin: What type of profit margins will be afforded the resellers? Will there be annual quotas to meet?
  • Answer: There is a minimum of $50K per year purchase guideline.  It is a very low purchase threshold and should be easily achieved by the Resellers.  There are no inventory requirements.
6. Annual Expectations: Will there be stock options or profit sharing if manufacture reaches high level sales or end of year profit or sales expectations, due re-seller strength?
  • Answer: EduTone ensures the Resellers are profitable with reasonable discounts and revenue sharing on subscription products.  Sales accelerators will be available.
7. Insurance: Because a tablet is involved and it will be in the hands of pre-teens and teen, what type of liability insurance will EduTone carry or will the reseller be required to carry limited liability or General liability insurance, or Error and Omission?
  • Answer: The Reseller is required to carry its own insurance on all levels as part of being in business.  Product Warranty is offered directly through the manufacturer.  EduTone will offer optional extended warranty and damage/loss replacement insurance.
8. Support: What type of warranty, tech support or customer service support will EduTone offer the consumer or customer base, be it public entity or private.
  • Answer: EduTone will offer a 1 year manufacturer’s limited warranty and optional for fee extended warranty and insurance.  Resellers are responsible for managing the warranty with their customers.  EduTone will create the processes to streamline warranty management.  Customer support is offered via web and email.  Telephone support is available for additional fees.
9. Software Support: Will EduTone handle all software and firmware enhancements, rollouts for the ET Persona tablets?
Answer: Yes as it related to EduTone’s software and third party connectors.
10. Training: Will EduTone provide next generation product training and will they make readily available product overview for older products? Will EduTone provide customer training after the sale?
  • Answer: EduTone will offer both sales and technical training to its Resellers as part of the authorization process.  The Reseller is responsible for post sale support to their customers.  Reseller can hire EduTone to offer that service to their customer if they did not have the support capabilities.
11. Order Placement Process: How will district orders be placed and fulfilled? Will reseller need to become a district vendor throughout assigned territory?
  • Answer: Reseller needs to develop its own process with their customer.  EduTone will have a simple process for ordering its products utilizing an online partner catalog of services.
12. Sales Payouts: Will the reseller agreement be based on quarterly payout, monthly commissions or other methods?Answer: The Reseller will order hardware products from EduTone at their pre-determined discount and pay EduTone within 30 days of purchase.  When the Reseller sells a subscription service, the agreed upon software discount will be sent to the Reseller on a quarterly basis.  EduTone will offer Reseller access to monitoring tools on the software revenue coming from their customers.
13. Reseller Contributions: Will there be any initial investment or capital commitment by potential re-sellers?
  • Answer: A minimum investment for acquiring demo products and advanced training/certification.
14. Renewal Fees: Will there be an annual fee to renew reseller agreements?
  • Answer: No
15. Reseller Agreement Length: What will be the length of reseller agreement?
  • Answer:  It is a one year contract that automaticall renews every 12 months unless either party cancels the agreement as per the terms of the EduTone Authorized Reseller Agreement
16. Sales Leads and Market Presence: Will EduTone consistently devote marketing and advertising dollars to generate leads for re-seller and to also keep a strong market presence?
  • Answer: EduTone will exert best effort to ensure ut maximizes market awareness of its products and Resellers and will pro-actively drive sales leads to its qualified resellers. Joint demand generation activities can be designed and implemented.
